Giovanna Garcia - Founder, Nutritionist and Natural Chef
I'm a Nutritionist and Certified Natural Chef with a passion for food and holistic living. I strongly believe that whole foods are the base of health, and am on a mission to educate busy individuals like you to obtain and sustain a balanced and healthy lifestyle through whole foods.
I found my love for food and nutrition through my personal health journey and transformation. My relationship with food wasn't always healthy - I struggled with disordered eating patterns, binge drinking, calorie counting, food restriction, and yoyo dieting thinking these restrictive ways were the road to health. One day, I found myself at a loss, depressed, and wanting to take control of my body and mind. I realized that all those food habits were very self-sabotaging and affecting my entire life.
As I continued onto my holistic health studies and culinary adventure, I started seeing the mind-body connection through food. I discovered that there is no 'right' or 'wrong' way of eating for everyone, but there is a way of eating that is unique and favorable for each of us individually. Through allowing myself to eat anything I wanted (no longer restricting) and also noticing how every single food affected me, I was able to point out exactly what my body needs when it needs it, and what foods were causing inflammation and stress. By simply eliminating those foods, I was no longer suffering from bloating, drastic weight fluctuation, and negative thoughts about myself. I added more fresh foods into my daily regimen and had more energy, clearer skin, and more passion to live.
My relationship with food and with myself has changed drastically through being aware of my body and eating intuitively - fresh, wholesome foods. I do not have a restrictive way of eating and love all the foods I eat. I enjoy chocolate daily! This way of relating with food has helped me align with my purpose and opened up unexpected opportunities in life.

My love for cooking goes back to when I would secretly bake cookies in my mom’s kitchen at age 8. At 17, I was the first in my family to become a vegetarian, which inevitably awakened a curiosity for wholesome cooking. Meanwhile (not a strict vegetarian anymore), I have explored macrobiotic, vegan, raw food and paleo cuisines. I have a special interest in foods that are easy on sensitive guts: gluten/grain-free, sugar-free, dairy-free.
As a visual artist and massage therapist, I bring the same playfulness, creativity, color, and exploration to the kitchen as I do to my (healing) art. My intention is to cook light, nourishing, mostly plant-based food that leaves you feeling inspired and revived.
In recent years, my explorations in food and cooking have included: a year-long exploration into cacao and chocolate in Hawaii, working in the kitchen of retreat center Esalen Institute in Big Sur, catering to a summer festival in my home country of Belgium, and working with chef Anne Wiles on a filmset in New Mexico.
Mira Nussbaum, Natural Chef
My passion for cooking began when I first cooked for a workshop and experienced how food can be both delicious and deeply healing. After almost two decades of cooking for individual families, as well as large groups, I began to find that many people had sensitivities to food and desired specific diets to meet their needs and preferences. Some people yearned to eat differently but couldn't figure out how to do so in a way that made food tasty and interesting. So, over the years I have developed original recipes, along with tried and true favorites, that offer health benefits without sacrificing taste. I pride myself in being able to take someone's unique food preferences and turn them into exciting meals! I see cooking food as an art, always taking time to include prayer and beauty into my dishes. As part of this mission, I try to offer food that is grown, harvested, transported and cooked with awareness and integrity. When I cook my vision is to feed people's spirits along with their bodies, bringing nourishment, energy, and pleasure into their day.

I’ve been a major foodie all my life, and have found my passion in cooking and nutrition, from my personal journey with food. Growing up, I struggled with body discomfort and disordered eating that manifested as binging on sweets, restricting foods, and feeling guilt and shame around the choices I made. I also discovered food allergies that were not being properly addressed and showing up as skin and digestive issues.
I decided to learn more about the role nutrition plays in overall health, and to share that knowledge with others, by pursuing studies in Holistic Nutrition at Bauman College. Applying this knowledge to myself over the past two years has, and continues to be, life-changing. I've been transformed by the healing power of food, and the new relationship I've established with it. In finding my grace around food, I've discovered a new way of eating that emphasizes a whole foods diet of balance and moderation.
I truly feel at home in the kitchen, and love experimenting with new ingredients that allow my creativity to come alive. Cooking for myself and for others is definitely my love language. Drawing from my personal history and holistic knowledge, I create custom meal plans that are well-balanced, nutritious, and most importantly, healing for the body (they’re also delicious!). Our bodies are constantly working to achieve a harmonious state, and I believe one of the best ways we can support its function is through the foods we eat. I'm hoping to fill as many bellies as possible, with wholesome and nourishing meals.
Eliza Martin, Natural Chef
Eliza has tasted and cooked her way from England to New York, and Chicago to San Francisco. Her launch into the culinary realm began at the Rachael Ray Show. Inspired, she trained at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City, where she also worked for Saveur Magazine, and a number of upscale restaurants and catering companies.
Soon after, she won the first Women In Culinary Leadership program sponsored by the James Beard Foundation, and expanded her culinary endeavors in Chicago. She worked in Indian and creole restaurants, and partnered with a program to aid homeless in becoming line cooks. She started her own catering company and launched an aquaponic farming company that partnered with Chicago Public Schools to bring edible gardens to school children.
Moved by the energy and vibrancy of San Francisco, she joined a 20-year-old Italian restaurant in Union Square, serving as Executive Chef. She once again partnered with several community organizations to bring food education to homeless and spearheaded children's cooking classes through the restaurant.
Now, Eliza is determined to spark a food revolution. Partnered with A Purified Life she hopes to spread the good news of healthy cooking and delicious nourishment.
